Course Description:	This course is a critical study of how the various categories of women participate in African indigenous religions. It examines their roles, rights and responsibilities and some of the challenges indigenous women face in performing these religious duties in contemporary African societies. Lecture topics include defining the subject matter; concepts, stereotypes, theory and method; and status, roles, and rights of women in African indigenous religions. Assessment: weekly reflection papers, group work, final exam.
