Course Description: This course covers the the motivations, modes and dynamics of University-Industry Collaborations (UIC) in an international context. With the recent surge in “Open Innovation” activities, more people in business and management circles need to understand this phenomenon and to be able to successfully navigate an ever more interconnected R&D environment. Conceptually, this course examines UIC in the context of various theories that explain innovation processes. Reading and analyzing various empirical papers provide the common tools to examine UICs.
