Course Description: This course examines the history of the United Nations and other international organizations, their organizational structures and activities, and the solutions of various international problems through the framework of international organizations. The course explores both IGOs (intergovernmental organizations) including the UN and Non-State Actors including NGOs (non-governmental organizations). The instructor offers students the benefit of his 42 years of experience as Japanese diplomat , which include Ambassadorship to the United Nations, the OECD and Kingdom of Spain. Assessment: attendance and participation (25%), group presentation (25%), and final paper (50%).
