Course Description: This course teaches grammar and vocabulary needed to read articles and essays on familiar topics of interest and write reports on them, attend classes, and express their own opinions, toward mastering the Japanese listening and speaking skills that lead from intermediate to upper intermediate level. Topics: sentence structures/expressions, and when, where, and how to use in daily communication and studying at a university; understanding a spontaneous conversation and a monologue about your concerns (listening); describing your concern so that the other party is interested, and you can respond appropriately by asking questions of your party's interests; adding simple prefixes and fixed form expressions in formal scenes. (spoken production); and responding by looking at the reaction, by adding appropriate fillers, response, and necessary information. (spoken interaction).
