Course Description: This course requires advanced Japanese proficiency and further develops that proficiency for correct grammar usage of advanced level Japanese for academic purpose. The course examines the complex grammatical structures used in formal written Japanese and compare how it is different from spoken Japanese style. Emphasis is placed on practicing usage and punctuation by reading and giving speeches in class. Assessment: attendance and participation (60%), quizzes and a final exam (40%).
